NEW SEASON !!! FALL/WINTER 2007-2008 D & C League

The new season has started with a total of 12 teams in the D League. It's not decided yet, but there might be 2 divisions. One division would be the top 6 teams and the other the lower 6 teams.
These are the teams for this season :

Misfits ... Beer Kings (Mid Cities) ... Yokels ... Hitmen A ... Blue Devils (Summer Champs) ... Ice Dogs ... Hitmen B (New team) ... Van Buren Boys (New team) ... Kings ... Phantoms ... Stickmen ... Ice Dragons (New team).

It's also a new season for the C League. There is a total of 6 teams.
These are the teams for this season :

Wet Willies (New team) ... Woodys Tavern Beavers (New team) ... Leprechauns ... Ham N Eggers ... Mighty Beavers and Billy Goats (New team).

Final Thoughts of the Summer C & D League

Well, the summer season ended with 2 new Champs for the C and D League. For the D League, the Blue Devils won the finals even though they were under dogs.
For the C League, the Chiefs beat the Mighty Beavers in 3 games. I have to say that it was awesome hockey to watch.
So, congrats to the Chiefs and the Blue Devils !!!!

D League FINALS 10-04 ... GAME 1

Tonight is the start of D League Finals between the Blue Devils and Hockey Team.
My prediction for this series is the Blue Devils will win it in 3 games ...

Well, I think that the Blue Devils will because of good goaltending tonight.

C & D League PLAYOFFS ... RESULTS !!!

Well, I have to say that it was pretty interesting hockey for the first round of the playoffs. We can tell that many players are taking these playoffs very seriously...
I know that there is a list of players from the Hockey Team, Misfits, Leprechans and Chiefs that are under review for suspension regarding fighting and trying to Injure players during the game.


Monday 10/1 Green 9pm C League Mighty Beavers vs Hitmen
Prediction: Mighty Beavers 7 - Hitmen 3
FINAL SCORE : Mighty Beavers 6 - Hitmen 2 ( 15 - 5 in my predictions ... )

This game was a close one starting the 3rd period but the Beavers took over scored 3 unanswered goals. Now, the Beavers are heading into the finals and rumor has it that the Hitmen will not be playing in the C League next session.

This was a game that could of been fun to watch but it got out of hand with players trying to hurt others and a fight with 15 seconds left in the game ... It was a close one also with a score of 3 -2 for the H.T. starting the 3rd. I really thought that the Misfits would win this one ...

This was a very good game to watch. I would say the best of the night. No penalties on either side and good goaltending.

Well, this is the upset of the night ... Never thought that the Chiefs would win this one ... wow
Anyway, it was a good game and it should be interesting in the finals.

C & D League PLAYOFFS !!! Summer 2007 PREDICTIONS ...

Before I start with my predictions, please note that Tom Yockey is taking registration for all old and new teams for A, B, C & D.
The new season for the D League should start on Friday 10/12 and the C League on 10/14.

Well this is a new season like we say. I am hoping for some surprises so it makes it more interesting to watch. Anyway, here you go with my predictions for the first round of the playoffs


Monday 10/1 Green 9pm C League Mighty Beavers vs Hitmen
The underdogs are the Hitmen in this one. I don't think that they have a chance on winning this game. But again, if the Hitmen goalie has a miracle game, you never know...
Prediction: Mighty Beavers 7 - Hitmen 3

Tuesday 10/2 Green 8:30pm D League Hockey Team vs Misfits
After watching the past games from both teams, I am giving the edge to the Misfits in this one.
I think that if they play like they did against the Yokels yesterday, they will win this one.
Misfits are 0 -2 against the Hockey Team this season ...
Prediction: Hockey Team 4 - Misfits 5

Tuesday 10/2 Green 10pm D League Blue Devils vs Yokels
I think that the Blue Devils have a more balance team then the Yokels. I also think that the goalies will be a factor in this one. The edge goes to the Blue Devils.
Blue Devils are 2 - 0 against the Yokels this season ...
Prediction: Blue Devils 5 - Yokels 3

Tuesday 10/2 Gold 9pm C League Leprechans vs Chiefs
Well, the Leprechans is a well balanced team with a great goalie ... Leprechans will win without a doubt.
Prediction: Leprechans 7 - Chiefs 3

These are the results of the last week of regular season for the D League. This summer season has been exciting considering that the last day of the regular season determined what team was going to get the final spot for the playoffs.

I was surprised to see that the Stickmen didn't show up for this important game. I have to say that it wasn't the best performance from goalie "Steve McCollister, Stickmen". This game put the Misfits in 4th and final spot for the playoffs. Now, the last day of the season will determine if the Misfits are in or out.

This game was tied 1 - 1 early in the 2nd and then the Hitmen scored 3 unanswered goals. From that point it was all Hitmen game when they scored 3 more goals in the 3rd to pave the way to a convincing win over the Phantoms. I would like to note that # 63 from the Hitmen got injured to his knee at the end of the game. We wish him well and hope he can recover and play hockey soon.

This game didn't have any consequence for the standings. It just showed how the Blue Devils are a notch higher in skills then the Spartans ...

This was a great game for goalie Terry Redmon from the Ice Dogs. He received a total of 60 shots and allowed only one goal !!! He almost pulled the win but lost in shootout ...
I think that if the Ice Dogs had a goalie during the season, they could of climbed the standings drastically. Maybe next season ....

The Ice Dogs only had one player on the bench, so that didn't help at all. And it wasn't the same goalie as their previous game against the Hockey Team. The Phantoms controlled the game from start to finish. I have to say that Nate was flying on the ice and had a couple of goals.
This was the final game for both teams. They are not in the playoffs and now they can focus on the next season. Will the Ice Dogs be back ? If so, will they have a better squad ? How about the Phantoms ? Are they coming back ?

I know that it was a disappointing season for MidCities ... I thought that they were going to be higher in the standings. Maybe next season ....

The game before this one decided the fate of the Stickmen. They knew that they were not in the playoffs anymore so they didn't have as much desire to win this game. It was a good game with good goaltending from the Hitmen netminder. Now that the season is over for both these teams, what roster changes are they going to make for the next season...
